Espoo Lab - A Creative Network
A new creative community is launching in Espoo in the spring of 2024.
City Events Espoo is piloting a new creative network called Espoo Lab, which brings together people from Espoo and those interested in Espoo’s urban culture. Our goal is to enable the emergence of a unique and innovative urban lifestyle in Espoo by supporting the realization of creators’ ideas.
Who is the network for?
The purpose of the network is to initiate a fresh, innovative urban culture in Espoo and to gather like-minded individuals. Freelancers, residents, small organizations, and associations from Espoo or those interested in communal event-driven activities in Espoo are welcome to join. Participants’ passions may focus on urban phenomena, art, various cultural fields, nature and the environment, movement, or even food culture.
What unites all network members is a shared interest in creating a distinctive urban culture in public spaces, either through their own ideas or collaboratively developed plans.
In its launch year, 2024, members of the Espoo Lab network may receive production support to implement content for Espoo Day.
How does the network operate?
The year 2024 is the pilot year for the network, intended to boldly test what kind of operational culture will emerge within it. Meetings will be held every 1-2 months, featuring afternoon snacks, interesting guests, and discussions to foster new connections and collaborative projects.
